Directions: From I-495, take Exit 41, north of American Legion Bridge in MD.

If from the south, bear left on exit ramp onto westbound Clara Barton Parkway.

If from the north, bear left on the exit ramp onto westbound Clara Barton Parkway.

After a mile, take first exit on right to “Carderock / Naval Surface Warfare Center.”

Turn left (not right) at top of exit ramp.

Cross over Clara Barton Parkway. Follow sign to Carderock.

Go through tunnel under C&O Canal Towpath, and go about 0.3 mi. to a T-junction.

Turn right and then immediately left into the first parking area. We host race-day registration and packet pickup in that parking area.

If that lot is full, park in any of the other three parking areas.

Parking is free but spaces are limited, so please carpool.

Bathrooms are at the main parking area and the farthest west parking area.

After you register, walk the short path through the woods to C&O Canal Towpath,

then turn right and walk to the start line. The course is totally flat gravel, from Carderock to Lock 10 and back.
